Using data to guide instruction is an important part of lesson planning. Each week, my team utilized scores from students' anecdotal notes to plan accordingly for the following week. The following charts compare classroom data from November and May to analyze student growth.
Each month, I wrote a monthly newsletter summarizing what we had done in class during the previous month as well as sharing important information for the upcoming month.
Early Childhood Practicum
This brochure was created as a resource to families living in Macomb County. It lists resources available to families with children between birth and five years of age. It also includes contact information for all services listed. Finally, it includes a list of all school districts and their phone numbers for easy reference.
All students were administered a common math assessment each quarter, which included questions on content that had been covered in the curriculum during the given quarter. The attached data shows the progress demonstrated in the assessment scores of the students which I supported during the year.
Pre-Test Data
After students completed the math pre-test, I not only assessed their overall scores, but examined which areas they needed the most support, review, and practice. I used the information to create a chart. This chart allowed me to create flexible groupings each week. It also helped me to focus on areas that each individual student needed support as well as identify the focus for my whole-group instruction.
