Students will feel that they are part of a family when they enter my classroom. They are welcomed, loved, and accepted for who they are and are encouraged to experience new things. My teaching will take into account the needs, interests, and learning styles of each student, so that each individual has the opportunity to achieve.

Classroom Environment
My students are all part of my classroom family. Students will feel welcome, safe, loved, and supported. Students are encouraged to be active participants in our classroom learning and planning. Students will be responsible participants in caring for our classroom.
Instruction
My instruction will take into account the various abilities and interests of my students. Learning activities will include both child-initiated and teacher-initiated opportunities. I will guide children to try new things and expand upon their existing skills and knowledge. I will instill independence and self-confidence in my students. Students will develop a love of learning.
Parent Interaction
Forming a strong relationship with my students' family members is extremely important. Parents are encouraged to become an integral part of their student's learning experience. I want parents to feel that we are partners in the education of their child, and I treat each student as if he/she was my own child.
These are some ways through which I interact and communicate with my parents:
-
Encourage volunteering both inside and outside of the classroom
-
Weekly newsletters
-
Open communication through phone calls, emails, and written notes
School Community
I look forward to becoming involved in your school. Having a great relationship with my fellow staff members is extremely important to me. It is through these collaborative interactions and discussions with others that our school will thrive.
- Attending district and school staff meetings and trainings
- Collaborating with staff from similar programs within the district
- Collaborating with building staff to best meet the needs of each student
